What is rota software?
Rota software replaces the spreadsheet or WhatsApp message you currently use to plan staff shifts. You build the week's schedule in a visual grid, publish it, and every team member is notified automatically. ClockRota also handles clock-in, shift swaps and payroll exports, so the rota, timesheets and hours all live in one place.
What does ClockRota cost right now?
Nothing. ClockRota is £0 for the duration of the public beta. Every feature is unlocked, there's no card required and no usage limits. This is a beta, not a permanently free product: when we launch paid plans, pricing starts at £9/month for teams up to 5, and every plan will include a 30-day free trial.
What happens when the beta ends?
We'll give every beta user plenty of notice before billing starts, so nothing changes overnight. Pricing is banded by team size: £9/month up to 5 staff, then £10 more per band of 5, with every feature included in every band. Your price only moves when your team crosses a band. Hire within one and the bill doesn't change.
How does staff clock-in work?
Staff clock in and out from their phone's browser at the start of a shift, so you see who's in, who's late and the hours actually worked, and those hours flow into your payroll export. A native app is in build; until it lands, clock-in is browser-based. Rota, scheduling and payroll export all work in any browser right now.
Can staff swap shifts themselves?
Yes. Team members arrange swaps between themselves in ClockRota, and you just approve or decline the final result. No more playing middleman across three group chats to cover a Saturday shift.
Do I need to install anything?
Nothing to install to run your rota: ClockRota works in any browser, on phone, tablet or computer. Staff clock in through the browser too. A native app is in build, and nothing about the rota depends on it.
